Position Summary


The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing rehabilitation programs aimed at assisting clients in recovering mobility, alleviating pain, enhancing strength, and preventing physical impairments.

This role involves conducting assessments and providing interventions for clients impacted by injuries or medical conditions. The therapist will utilize various techniques to deliver effective treatment while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Documentation of client information is essential for evaluation purposes, and therapeutic plans will be established and adjusted as needed. Education for clients and their families regarding treatment strategies and home exercises is a critical component of this role. The therapist must demonstrate knowledge of age-appropriate treatments and evaluations tailored to the unique needs of each client.

Clients of all ages with diverse diagnoses and disorders may be treated. Adherence to documentation standards and regulatory requirements is expected. The therapist will provide specialized treatment in accordance with professional guidelines.

Flexibility in accepting varied work schedules and assignments is essential. Participation in departmental promotional activities is encouraged.

Interaction with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers and case managers, is a regular part of the role. The therapist may also supervise assistants and students in providing care and treatment.

Ongoing education and training for peers in specialized areas of expertise is expected as determined by departmental leadership.

Additional duties may be assigned as required.


Depending on facility needs, the focus may include post-acute, long-term care, and home health environments.


Qualifications
Education requirements must align with state licensure standards.

Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state(s) of practice is mandatory.

A valid driver's license may be required when applicable.

Maintaining department-specific competencies and certifications is essential, including Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers within the first 60 days of employment.
