The Phlebotomy Technician plays a vital role in the laboratory operations at UAB Medical West. This position is responsible for the preparation, distribution, collection, and storage of lab specimens. The successful candidate will possess excellent patient identification skills and adhere to hospital specimen identification policies.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process lab specimens for testing and analysis
- Identify patients accurately and adhere to hospital specimen identification policies
- Provide administrative support to the laboratory staff, including filing, record maintenance, and responding to client/patient inquiries
- Assist with mail delivery and other duties as assigned within scope
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous phlebotomy and/or laboratory experience preferred.
