We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mattoon Counter/Warehouse/Back-up Driver. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our warehouse and delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities- Enter sales orders into the Eclipse system and pick customer order tickets.
- Merchandise and stock products on displays and in self-service areas.
- Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections.
- Emphasize product features based on customers' needs and technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, and credit terms.
- Efficiently load and unload trucks.
- Inspect materials according to instructions and report damaged goods.
- Process inbound materials to the warehouse.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Ensure materials are placed in the designated area within the warehouse.
- Stack skids or pallets in designated areas.
- Clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and place in the proper container or assigned area.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping racks, shelves, pallet area, workstations, and counter area neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform general housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and emptying trash.
- Prepare truck for operation by inspecting general condition, checking fluid levels and tire pressure, and notifying Branch Manager after obtaining or scheduling required repairs.
- Maintain truck operating efficiency by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and scheduling repairs.
- Load delivery truck with product securely to avoid damages.
- Deliver items by identifying destinations, establishing route, operating the truck, unloading items, and maintaining schedule.
- Use cell phone to report on the progress of deliveries.
- Pick up returns items for the company.
- Verify products delivered against packing slip and have customer sign receipt.
- Serve customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints.
- Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (CDL Class B or C preferred).
- Critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions.
- Mathematical reasoning ability to choose the correct method or formulas to solve the problem.
- Ability to learn Eclipse software.
- Must be very detail-oriented and focused for accuracy.
- Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
- Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Must be able to determine and prioritize workload.
