Medical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect blood and other specimens from patients using various techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
- Label and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
- Communicate effectively with patients, laboratory staff, and medical staff to ensure smooth specimen collection and processing.
- Participate in the instruction of new personnel and contribute to the development of laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time to meet deadlines.
- Certification from an accredited phlebotomy diploma program.
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience (additional education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement).
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, including blood collection, urine and stool collection, and EKG and spirometry procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating with patients, laboratory staff, and medical staff.
Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a medical group and laboratory environment.
