Job Description

The successful candidate will ensure food orders are prepared and assembled quickly according to recipes, garnished, and served to our guests in a timely manner. The Expeditor oversees communication between the line and food runners, implementing policy and procedure on the line.

Responsibilities
  • Report for duty on time and ensure you use the time clock to check in and out. Manage your time, including taking rest and meal breaks in compliance with California Labor Law.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and hygiene, including clean clothes, nails, and hair, and no heavy perfumes/colognes.
  • Knowledge of all dishes on the menu, to be able to identify them and know their ingredients.
  • Preps, maintains, and manages station before, during, and after shift; making sure all condiments, garnish, cutlery, and additional tools are fully stocked.
  • Oversees and ensures quality/presentation of plates from line to the dining room.
  • Oversees the timing of dishes so coursing is in accordance with orders sent.
  • Liaison between Floor Manager/Servers and Line/Runners; promptly deals with any issues and corrections to tables.
  • Knowledge of all dishes on the menu, to be able to identify them and know their ingredients.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-2 years restaurant expo or related experience (preferred).
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use all relevant items of equipment.
  • Understanding, knowledge, and ability to comply with safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize work activities, provide accurate information, and assistance to any management or colleagues' request in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Ability to keep calm when faced with any unusual situations.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to take direction.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Must have problem-solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Neat, clean, and professional appearance.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and nights.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency.
  • Willingness to work on your feet.
  • Has high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling.
  • Knowledge and use of kitchen forms/systems.
Salary

The estimated hourly salary range for this position is $ Min Wage per hour + Mandatory Service Charge + Tips (DOE and state), with opportunities for advancement and professional growth.
