The Environmental Field Chemist position is an entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to grow within the environmental services industry, particularly for those transitioning from military service.

Job Description:
  • We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong customer service skills to join our team as an Environmental Field Chemist.
  • As an Environmental Field Chemist, you will be responsible for handling and inspecting chemical waste, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • You will work both indoors and outdoors at various sites, including plants and customer locations, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifest, and land disposal restriction notifications
  • Perform inspections of staging, accumulating, and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance
  • Inspect storage area and drums for leaks or spills
  • Collects, segregates, and properly packages waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
  • Execute Jobs at Clean Harbors customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies
  • Responsible for final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment
  • Perform physical functions per job requirements
  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, if required

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience
