CareFlite is on the lookout for a dedicated and proficient Landscape and Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the upkeep and enhancement of the outdoor spaces at our facilities. This position demands hands-on expertise in various landscaping methods and the capability to utilize power tools and machinery effectively.

Compensation: $17.00-$25.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute garden upkeep tasks including planting, pruning, and weeding.

• Utilize power tools and machinery for landscaping initiatives.

• Maintain lawns through mowing and routine care.

• Provide tree maintenance services, such as trimming, pruning, and removal.

• Dig trenches and set up landscape features like pathways or flower beds.

• Water lawns and plants in areas lacking sprinkler systems.

• Apply fertilizers to lawns, shrubs, trees, and flower beds as necessary.

• Collect loose debris around buildings and parking areas each morning as required.

• Sand campus entrances during icy or wintry conditions.

• Assist with minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and painting tasks as needed.

• Respond promptly to all maintenance requests and report any landscape or maintenance concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.

• Aid in the repair of tools and equipment to ensure safe and proper usage.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Valid Texas Class C driver's license.

• Proficient in verbal and written English communication.

• Preferred minimum of 3 years' experience in landscaping or a related field.

• Familiarity with various landscaping techniques and practices.

• Experience with power tools used in landscaping.

• Ability to operate mowers, trimmers, and other lawn care equipment.

• Knowledge of trailer operation and towing.

• Understanding of tree care principles and practices.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to make decisions that impact the immediate work unit.

• Capability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.

• Must be able to see and communicate with staff and observe equipment operations.

• Frequently perform tasks while standing and walking.

• Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and demonstrate high manual dexterity.

• Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

• Exposure to extreme temperatures is common.

• Required to wear personal protective equipment during specific tasks or in certain areas.

• Physical tasks may include sitting, crawling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, twisting, gripping, and lifting weights ranging from 10 lbs. to 50 lbs.
