About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at City Cruises in Norfolk, VA. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional hospitality to our guests and coworkers, while maintaining a safe and responsible environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt and consistent service to guests and servers throughout the cruise.
  • Mix high-quality beverages and maintain thorough knowledge of all beverage offerings and prices.
  • Set up and break down bar, stock and restock bar according to prescribed par specifications, and clean bar thoroughly in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the bar and all common areas and service stations.
  • Accurately charge guests for onboard purchases and enter orders into the point-of-sale system.
  • Provide information to guests about beverage and food menu descriptions, entertainment options, cruise route, and points of interest.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • At least one year of previous bartending experience required.
  • Must be able to work weekends and be available for work on all major holidays.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential.
  • Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of beverage recipes and basic computer skills.
  • Must possess a service orientation and be able to lift heavy items such as liquor boxes and ice bins up and down stairs.
