Desert Regional Medical Center is a leading healthcare provider in the region, classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Trauma Med Surg to lead our skilled nursing unit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical and administrative leadership to the skilled nursing unit, ensuring delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and excellence in patient care.
- Collaborate with nursing directors, medical directors, and physicians to develop and maintain the unit's philosophy and goals.
- Direct and administer the operations of the department, establishing department direction and guidelines for accountability.
- Ensure standards of care, policies, and procedures are current and reviewed with all staff members.
- Develop short-term goals and objectives consistent with those of the organization.
- Assure departmental action plans meet departmental and organizational goals.
- Regularly attend Nurse Executive Council and take personal responsibility for the quality and integrity of Nursing Administration.
- Must have a strong background in nursing leadership and management.
- Experience in trauma and med surg nursing is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
