Position: Fire Sprinkler Designer

Job Summary:

Gpac is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to design and layout fire sprinkler systems for various buildings and structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire protection systems design, with NICET certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and layout fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with NFPA codes and standards
  • Create detailed drawings and specifications using CAD software
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure successful project execution
  • Perform hydraulic calculations to determine pipe sizes and sprinkler head requirements
  • Review and interpret building plans, blueprints, and specifications to identify design opportunities
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and identify potential design challenges
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals to ensure project completion
  • Provide technical support during installation and commissioning to ensure system functionality

Qualifications:

  • NICET certification in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire sprinkler design
  • Proficiency in CAD software and ability to create detailed drawings and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, as well as local building codes and regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate design and layout
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with project stakeholders
