Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team as a Sustainability Specialist. This role will play a critical part in the development, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based applications and infrastructure within the Microsoft Azure environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering observability strategies and implementing them within our Azure Cloud and Kubernetes environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement observability strategies to enhance application and system performance.
  • Work with development teams to deliver meaningful dashboards and alerts for their areas of responsibility.
  • Provision cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes resources, Azure storage, databases, and other Azure resources.
  • Develop automated processes that support product and business needs, working closely with Sustainability Architecture, Information Security, and development teams.
  • BUILD CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and refactor common patterns into shared GitHub Actions.
  • Understand and evangelize security policies, familiarizing yourself with company information security policies and industry best practices.
  • Document configurations and processes clearly, providing understandable documentation for other team members and engineers.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand their needs from the platform and work on a talented team building SaaS-based energy and sustainability solutions.
  • Research emerging technologies and industry trends, introducing new technology as it fits into business goals.
  • Optimize Azure resource utilization to control costs while maintaining performance and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong experience in implementing and using observability technologies like OpenTelemetry, Promtail/FluentD/FluentBit, Prometheus, Grafana, Tempo, etc.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes and related technologies.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Administrator Associate, CKA, CKAD, are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, Azure DevOps, and related tools.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and related tools (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with networking principles such as TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, encryption, etc.
  • Understanding of network and security principles in Azure.

Salary Estimate

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
