MedPsych Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled MedPsych physician to join our team at the Medical University of South Carolina Health. As a dual-trained physician in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in managing the complex interplay of medical and psychiatric needs of our patients.

This position is centered on providing clinical care in our new 12-bed inpatient Med-Psych Unit, specifically designed for patients admitted for medical reasons but who also have significant psychiatric comorbidities. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to offer comprehensive care that addresses both aspects of your patients' health.

• Provide high-quality patient care in a Med-Psych setting
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences
• Mentor and teach medical students and residents from the combined Med-Psych, Internal Medicine, and Psychiatry residency programs

• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in both Internal Medicine and Psychiatry
• Experience in a Med-Psych setting or a similar environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
