Job Title:

Dock Supervisor (FT- 10 PM Start)

Job Summary:

Lead and direct dock employees to ensure efficient, clean, and safe LTL operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Report to Operations Manager/Assistant Terminal Manager and/or Terminal Manager
  • Set targets, monitor performance, provide coaching, counseling, and development
  • Enforce understanding and compliance with company policies, safety rules, and government regulations
  • Involved in hiring and termination processes
  • Administer and carry out assigned portions of the Terminal Business plan
  • Meet all assigned KPIs
  • Utilize company enhancement tools and processes
  • Review and revise schedules to increase efficiencies and lower costs
  • Responsible for equipment assignment and movement
  • Communicate with customers via phone, fax, or email
  • Oversee and ensure timely and correct handling of dock paperwork
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry
  • Prior management, dispatch, and dock experience required
  • Strong leadership skills, including hiring, coaching, counseling, training, mentoring, and terminating employees
  • Team building and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Good computer skills (AS/400 and MS Office a plus)
  • Strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work 50 hours/week average
  • Ability to work any shift, including nights and weekends, and in any weather condition
  • Ability to lift approximately 20 lbs.
