Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Electro-Mechanical Design group, you'll be responsible for designing and packaging electro-mechanical components and low-voltage harnesses for our electric vehicles. Your expertise will help us create cutting-edge systems that set the standard for the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of electrical-mechanical components, ensuring technical and product excellence at all levels.
  • Support and develop proof-of-concept work to ensure program success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and optimize solutions for overall performance, cost, investment, tooling, and mass.
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including architecture, block diagrams, and supplier nomination.
  • Work closely with Supplier Quality to ensure components are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Integrate components into subsystems and the overall vehicle system.
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to maintain component and system-level DVPRs and ensure test execution.
Qualifications
  • BS+ in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related engineering degree; Master's is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience working in vehicle level component programs preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier processes, manufacturing, and standards.
  • Excellent understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamentals and electro-mechanical background.
  • Experience working with Tier 1s to deliver complete products and systems on time and within budget.
  • Understanding of PLM and component release cycles.
  • Experience in ISO26262 development process.
  • Deep understanding of electronics, packaging, and software.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
What We Offer

Rivian provides a competitive salary range of $132,000 to $165,000 for California-based candidates, with actual compensation determined by experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. We also offer robust medical, Rx, dental, and vision insurance packages for full-time employees and their families.
