Job Overview

The HR Manager will work closely with the HR Director to support the HR function in assigned geographic regions. This role will perform human resources-related duties at a professional level and may be responsible for employee and labor relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, employment law compliance, and supporting the Corporate Human Resources Department with various programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with employees and management to communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee documentation as required by company and governing agencies.
  • Cultivate working relationships with union officials and adhere to labor contract terms regarding wages, hours, and working conditions.
  • Coordinate management training on interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Assist in investigating, answering, and settling grievances, including arranging grievance hearings between union personnel, supervisors, and management teams.
  • Support responding to EEOC and NLRB charges.
  • Review benefits with employees and process enrollment, cancellation, or changes; assist with the annual open enrollment process.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees; conduct new-employee orientations; and assist with internal job postings.
  • Address employee relation issues such as complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights concerns.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least 5+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • A strong background in Labor Relations is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or Business is preferred; PHR certification is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
