Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of our patient care team, providing direct nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing theory and practice, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and document direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and providing wound care.
  • Assist physicians and other nursing personnel in the performance of various diagnostic procedures, such as phlebotomy and ECGs.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring patient-centered care and optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor patient response to care and report any concerns or changes to the registered nurse or physician.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in nursing care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program required.
  • Current South Carolina (or compact state) licensure as LPN (SCLLR) in good standing required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Previous acute care experience preferred.
  • Previous Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Occasional exposure to difficult patients.
  • Stress level high due to multiple demands frequently occurring simultaneously.
  • Radiation and biohazardous/infectious materials risk prevalent.
  • Prolonged standing and walking required.
