Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled RN Unit Supervisor to join our team at Morris Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for managing nursing personnel, overseeing the delivery of resident care, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nursing Personnel Management
    • Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff in accordance with organizational goals
    • Counsel employees and take disciplinary action as necessary
    • Schedule staff effectively to promote optimal use of resources
    • Inform DNS of personnel activities and problems on a timely basis
  • Nursing Department Management
    • Manage the delivery of resident care, maximizing efficiency and quality
    • Perform acute illness/injury assessments and treatments
    • Coordinate follow-up care with physicians and other professionals
    • Transcribe and interpret physicians' orders
    • Collaborate with Infection Control Nurse to meet standards
    • Initiate development and implementation of resident care standards
    • Monitor adherence to resident care standards through QA/QI process
    • Interpret policies and procedures to staff
    • Assist in directing documentation processes
  • Leadership
    • Utilize management skills to accomplish facility goals
    • Maintain facility at DOH survey readiness
    • Analyze problems and implement resolution strategies
    • Effectively counsel employees
    • Foster problem-solving abilities of staff

Requirements:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License in NY State
  • Previous experience in nursing or medical fields with LTC experience
  • Familiarity with medical software (SIGMA) and equipment
  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
