Nuvance Health Medical Office RN Vascular Surgery Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Medical Office RN Vascular Surgery specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary medical care to patients, assist physicians and physician assistants, and maintain sterile fields during in-office surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct patient care, prepare materials, supplies, equipment, and the patient to assist the physician or physician assistant with the patient's medical exam. Obtain the patient's history and basic medical data such as vital signs, temperature, height, and weight, vision, and chief complaint.
2. Collect, prepare, and analyze patient specimens as directed by the physician or physician assistant. Instruct the patient and family on how to perform physician-recommended preventive care, take prescribed medication, prepare for tests, monitor treatment progress, and note symptom changes.
3. Perform sterile in-office surgical procedures, including time outs, surgical consents, pre- and post-documentation, discharge instructions.
4. Monitor medication inventory and expiration dates. Mix medication for IV anesthesia. Implement policies and procedures needed for surgical practice as well as adjust clinical staffing needs.
5. Triage all clinical calls, including medication renewals. Assist in rooming patients, wrapping wounds, as well as assessing patients, complete disability and Home Care paperwork. Initiate Home Care OT, PT, and in-home lymphatic pumps services.
6. Maintain IAC standards of care and track complications in the accreditation log.
7. Contact the patient by telephone to provide requested follow-up, advise them of test results, or relay a physician's instructions.
8. Perform organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practice's and WCMG missions through a process of total quality improvement.
9. Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
