About the Role:

As a Radiology Technologist at Ascension, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients. Your expertise will aid physicians in diagnosing medical problems, and your attention to detail will ensure that images are of the highest quality.

Responsibilities:

Take radiologic films to provide quality images to physicians for diagnosis.

Prepare and position patients for imaging, selecting exposure factors accurately.

Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

Observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as needed.

Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure to patients.

Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history.

Maintain equipment functionality, reporting potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment as necessary.

Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and other department spaces.

Requirements:

BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required.

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
