About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join our Trust and Safety team at Whatnot. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for building systems and features that ensure our users have positive and safe experiences on our platform.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android development, with expertise in creating fluid and responsive user interfaces. You will be working closely with our cross-functional team to design and implement solutions that meet the needs of our users.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about building high-quality products, has a strong problem-solving mindset, and is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Android features and systems that ensure user safety and security
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features and requirements
  • Develop and maintain high-quality Android code, following best practices and coding standards
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality code
  • Work closely with the Trust and Safety team to identify and mitigate potential security risks
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Android development
  • Strong knowledge of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
  • Experience with reactive programming and Kotlin Coroutines
  • Fluent in MVI or MVVM development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
