About the Role
Framatome is seeking a highly skilled Scientist/Chemist to join our team in Richland, WA. As a key member of our Analytical Services function, you will play a critical role in supporting nuclear fuel and reactor control component manufacturing by performing analyses of products for chemical and mechanical properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Framatome's Thermo Scientific Sample Manager Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Interpret and explain results to internal and external customers
- Work in conjunction with analysts and technicians to ensure a seamless transition from raw sample to results
- Assist with special projects requiring long-term testing or very specialized technical skill
- Problem-solve related to procedures or instrumentation to maximize efficiency and lifetime of equipment
- Prepare reagents, standards, and samples of various matrices to be analyzed on instrumentation
- Perform any of the responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician if such assistance is required
- Follow strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and follow Good Laboratory Practices to ensure the safe generation of high-quality and reliable data
- Maintain a neat and organized laboratory
- Lead development of new procedures or techniques, which significantly enhance work quality or cost effectiveness
- Lead preventive maintenance on instrumentation to maximize instrument lifetime
