Assistant Installation Manager Job Description

Empire Today is seeking an experienced Assistant Installation Manager to join our team. As a key member of our installation operations team, you will be responsible for managing installation projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of our products to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage installation projects, including allocating resources, coordinating with customers and installation contractors, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Evaluate and onboard independent installation contractors to meet customer demand for soft and hard surface installations.
  • Liaise with managers, customers, and employees to ensure seamless communication and resolution of installation-related issues.
  • Regularly evaluate customer satisfaction with installation work product and make recommendations for continued allocation of opportunities.
  • Foster a strong working relationship with installation contractors, focusing on creating a culture of feedback, coaching, and continuous improvement.
  • Audit projects to ensure materials are readily available and the scope of work matches the sales contract.
  • Direct the allocation of installation contractors to customer projects based on evaluation of licensure, qualifications, and geographic locations.
  • Attend pre-loadout meetings to report on status, activities, and opportunities, and ensure timely loadout of installation contractors.
  • Collaborate with customers, installation contractors, customer service, and management to resolve installation-related issues.
  • Manage loadout operations for carpet and/or hard surfaces, with a focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with installation contractors at job sites to resolve customer issues, troubleshoot technical questions, and address customer change orders.
  • Approve or decline subcontractor change order requests in a timely manner, managing the scope and monetary impact of change orders with customers.
  • Perform job-site visits to evaluate new or developing subcontractor qualifications and opportunities, or projects with customer complaints.
  • Coach installation contractors to ensure Empire achieves customer delivery expectations.
  • Set, adjust, and approve installer subcontractor labor pay additional charges for scope changes on-site at customer locations.
  • Handle installer subcontractor complaints and grievances promptly.
  • Control the flow and distribution of materials and supplies allocated to customer jobs, ensuring proper return and accounting in Empire's systems.
  • Provide for the safety and security of employees, installation contractors, and Empire property during loadout.
  • Monitor policy and safety compliance measures during loadout.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong computer systems skills, including Microsoft applications and order management software programs.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in the fundamentals of carpet and flooring installations.
  • Working knowledge of home improvement codes, permitting, and licensing requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with material take-offs, additions, and estimating competency is a plus.
