Job Summary:

The Part Time Assistant Teacher will be responsible for supporting the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing engaging and educational activities for children aged 12 months to 18 months. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and be able to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans and activities
  • Assist with the supervision and care of children during activities and transitions
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education

Requirements:

  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
  • Ability to relate positively with young children
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position with a public or private school system, a quality preschool, child care center or church nursery is preferred
  • Certification or degree related to early childhood or preschool or elementary education is desirable, but not mandatory

Compensation:

Compensation is based on experience and education, with a rate of $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.
