Position Overview:
As an integral part of our healthcare team at Highmark Health, you will engage in direct patient support and assist with essential unit coordination tasks. Your role will encompass executing fundamental nursing tasks, ensuring patient comfort, and collaborating with Registered Nurses in the care of critically ill patients. You will uphold medical asepsis, honor patient dignity and confidentiality, and comply with hospital protocols. Furthermore, you will aid in patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, while also contributing to quality improvement and patient satisfaction efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient support, including assistance with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, collecting specimens, and facilitating patient mobility
- Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and patient satisfaction
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and promptly report any changes in condition
- Support unit operations by managing supplies and maintaining equipment cleanliness
- Undertake additional tasks as required
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in reading, writing, and following instructions
- Basic computer proficiency
- CPR certification
- Clearance of criminal background checks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care settings within the past three years
- Enrollment in a nursing program with clinical rotation experience
