Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to maintenance and upkeep of our facilities and grounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy power equipment such as lawn mowers, chain saws, and brush cutters to maintain our grounds and facilities.
- Move furniture, remove and set signs, paint picnic tables and signs, rake and water lawns, trim trees and shrubbery, and pick up litter.
- Occasionally operate flat deck pontoon boats to access shoreline recreation sites to conduct maintenance operations such as cleaning and restocking bathrooms, removing trash, and replacing and/or repairing mooring and/or fee tubes.
- Work under general supervision completing assigned duties after receiving initial oral or written instructions, completes assignments on own initiative.
- The work involves lifting and moving objects over 50 pounds, and in some cases, carrying 80 to 100 pounds (or more) with assistance.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
