Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Truck Driver/Furniture Mover to join our team at St. Vincent de Paul CARES. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for transporting donated goods and merchandise to and from our thrift store locations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to our customers and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Logistics: Drive a pre-scheduled route to pick up donations and deliver merchandise to customers and clients, ensuring safe and responsible operation of the vehicle.
  • Load and Unload Merchandise: Load and unload a variety of merchandise, including furniture, bedding, appliances, household items, and clothing, using lifts, dollies, and other equipment as needed.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to our clients and customers, ensuring a positive experience with our organization.
  • Logistics and Administration: Complete daily logs and adhere to the truck maintenance schedule, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of vehicle maintenance and other logistical activities.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a related field, such as logistics, transportation, or customer service.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and basic computer skills.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid Florida driver's license and a clean driving record required.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. The employee must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
