At Zachry Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with all Zachry and site-specific safety rules, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Follow direction from Multi-Craft Electricians, General Foremen, Craft Superintendents, Site Superintendents, and Project Managers.
  • Inspect designated work areas for hazards and participate in Safety Task Assessment (STA) meetings.
  • Perform detailed inspections on hand and power tools to ensure they are safe to operate and in proper working order.
  • Examine blueprints, sketches, diagrams, building plans, and specifications to determine locations of circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards, wires, conduit, components, and other equipment.
  • Carry, cut, bend, connect, and install conduit as defined in NFPA 70 (NEC 2014).
  • Pull cables and conductors through specified pathways as defined in NFPA 70 (NEC 2014).
  • Modify, fabricate, and install cable trays as required and as defined in NFPA 70 (NEC 2014).
  • Operate testing equipment to validate connections and ensure capability of circuits using tools such as clamp meters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and harmonics testers.
  • Inspect and test all electrical equipment to ensure safe operation and to certify it is operating as intended.
  • Install and maintain temporary power systems and their distribution systems as defined in NFPA 70 (NEC 2014).
  • Install and maintain assured equipment grounding/bonding on equipment and facilities.
  • Terminate wire/cable to electrical equipment such as outlets, switches, breakers, control panels, and distribution systems.
  • Observe all state and local building/electrical codes.
Requirements
  • Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Journeyman Electrician License, Master Electrician License, NCCER Industrial Electrician Certified, or achieved Journeyman Electrician Level Qualification through Zachry Craft Advancement Program (ZCAP).
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics, and plans.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrician hand, power tools, and layout tools.
  • Must have required tools.
  • Ability to work at heights of 300 ft.
  • Ability to meet physical demands and pre-employment conditions.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work 7 days a week.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools. May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 25lbs. Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders, and stairways, and work off of platforms. Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.

Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot - cool/cold. Occasional rain. Will work at different elevations. Noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools. People standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Bells, whistles, and alarms.
