Position SummaryThe Facilities Management Department is seeking a qualified Plumber to perform advanced duties in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems and related equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge in commercial plumbing and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Installing, maintaining, or repairing water and gas service lines, plumbing systems, fixtures, restroom facilities, water heaters, pumps, valves, and backflow devices.
- Interpreting blueprints and schematics, requisitioning necessary tools and supplies, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Utilizing computer systems to manage records and work orders, responding to emergency situations, and coordinating with other trades and stakeholders.
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- A minimum of two years of journey-level plumbing experience.
- A current Backflow Testers License issued by the appropriate authority.
- A valid California Class C driver's license with the ability to maintain insurability.
The selected candidate will be required to work second or third shifts, including nights and weekends, and may be called back for emergency situations.
