Cybersecurity Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for planning and executing the Department's Information Technology (IT)/Information Systems (IS) programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies needed to deliver a wide variety of IT technical and integration services.
• Participate in the development of Agency-wide IT policy initiatives and solutions to critical issues.
• Exercising managerial skills to plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor complex and interrelated IT efforts and tasks.
• Providing oversight and direction for matrixed support teams comprised of Contractor and Organic team members.
• Planning, coordinating and directing the work of subordinate staff and finding ways to improve production or increase the quality of work directed.
• Presenting new ideas and obtaining support from Command Leadership for changes to existing procedures through cooperation with associates, management, and higher authorities.

Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of applying policy and planning concepts/practices, interrelations of multiple Information Technology (IT) disciplines, and project management methods related to the management of an organization's Information Systems (IS) and support resources.
• At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
