Job Summary

As an Assistant Store Manager at Family Dollar, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and well-stocked store, and assisting with inventory management and daily paperwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a positive and approachable manner, answering questions and resolving customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Store Maintenance: Ensure a clean, well-stocked store for customers, and maintain a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, organizing merchandise, and transferring merchandise from the stockroom to the store.
  • Supervision and Training: Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates on Family Dollar operating practices and procedures, under the direction of the Store Manager.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist the Store Manager with ordering merchandise, record-keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts.
Requirements
  • Education: Prefer completion of high school or equivalent, with the ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
  • Experience: Prefer store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. (and occasionally, up to 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height, with the ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
  • Availability: Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
