Job Summary

The Executive Chef Manager is a key member of the Whitsons Culinary Group team, responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our facilities. This role requires a high level of expertise in food preparation, kitchen management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Kitchen Management: Assist the General Manager in managing all production requirements, following recipes, and ensuring safe food handling practices.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and cultivate a high-performing team to meet the standards set forth by management.
  • Culinary Operations: Coordinate cooking, prepping, and other kitchen activities according to production schedules.
  • Quality Control: Perform temperature checks to ensure food is prepared at correct temperatures and maintain all logs.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Follow and manage sanitation requirements, assist in implementing and following up on sanitation cleaning schedules, and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete and submit weekly payroll accurately and efficiently, and assist with production in cold pantry stations when applicable.
  • Communication: Conduct weekly kitchen meetings to ensure all team members are informed and aligned with kitchen operations.
Requirements
  • Education: A college or culinary degree is preferred, with a focus on food management and safety.
  • Certifications: ServSafe Certification is required, and OSHA Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products and the ability to learn new software programs.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of high-volume food service management experience is required.
Physical Demands

The Executive Chef Manager will be required to stand for most of the day, with occasional sitting, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily in a kitchen setting, with moderate to loud noise levels. The employee must be able to work in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
