Position Overview

The Warehouse Forklift Specialist is tasked with the safe operation of forklifts to efficiently load, unload, transport, and stack products within the warehouse or onto delivery vehicles for customer distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute pre-operation inspections on forklifts.
  • Verify product loads for accuracy and safely maneuver them throughout the warehouse to ensure prompt and complete deliveries.
  • Load or unload products from pallets, skids, platforms, or other transport vehicles, either manually or mechanically.
  • Position forklifts appropriately under, over, or around pallets, skids, or boxes, securing materials for transport.
  • Occasionally weigh products and document weights as necessary.
  • Collaborate with operations, warehouse, and maintenance teams to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential job function effectively. The qualifications listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • A minimum of two years of experience operating forklifts (both sit-down and stand-up) with a proven safety record, preferably in a dynamic forklift environment.
  • Previous experience in distribution is preferred, particularly in food service or meat distribution.
  • Capability to lift and move 50 lbs multiple times throughout a 12-hour shift.
  • Flexibility to work during holidays and weekends as necessary.
  • Willingness to operate in a warehouse environment with limited temperature control, exposed to varying local temperatures.
