As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Dietitian will serve as a nutritional expert and resource.
Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive nutritional care, which encompasses assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, care plan implementation, counseling, education, and outcome evaluation for patients, families, and healthcare associates.
The role also involves organizing various educational programs and seminars focused on nutritional topics.Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or a related field that fulfills the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements is essential.
This qualification can be obtained through an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics accredited four-year Baccalaureate degree program and an advanced training program recognized by the Academy.
A Master's degree or Advanced Practice Certification is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Requires a professional understanding of chemistry, physiology, caloric and nutrient values, and the physical properties of food.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is necessary, along with the ability to comprehend medical terminology, follow oral and written instructions, and perform arithmetic calculations. Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products are also required.
Interpersonal Skills:
A high level of interpersonal skills is essential for effective communication and collaboration with medical, nursing, and other healthcare professionals, as well as patients and their families.
Certifications:
Must possess a Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
Additional Information:
This position entails working alongside an established team of ten registered dietitians, providing comprehensive care for a diverse range of medical and surgical patients, including enteral and parenteral nutrition management.
