The Bilingual Patient Advocate will play a crucial role in connecting uninsured hospital patients to programs that cover their medical expenses. This position requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to navigate complex government programs.
Key Responsibilities- Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance
- Complete applications and follow through until approved
- Document cases accurately and timely in company and hospital systems
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive working relationship with patients, hospital staff, and government agencies
- Participate in ongoing trainings to stay up-to-date on changing rules and regulations
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Prior hospital experience and adaptability in dealing with changing processes and government programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel and Outlook
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
