About the Job

This position offers the opportunity to lead an active research program focused on the spectroscopic analysis of comets using various observational platforms, including the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive research plan in comet spectroscopy, emphasizing atomic and molecular processes.
  • Analyze spectroscopic data from high-profile space-based observatories like HST and JWST to advance our understanding of cometary compositions and physical processes.
  • Collaborate with researchers from diverse fields to foster interdisciplinary research initiatives and educational opportunities.
  • Mentor students in research projects, promoting their growth in the field.
Requirements and Qualifications

A Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, planetary science, or a related field is mandatory.

Familiarity with space-based observatories (HST, JWST) and relevant data analysis methods is highly desirable.

Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as a proven ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary research environment, are required.
