Position Summary:


The Back Office Clinical Support Specialist is responsible for a range of clinical and administrative tasks that assist healthcare providers in the examination and treatment of patients.

This role includes entering essential information into patient records and performing various clerical duties.

Key responsibilities include:
- Rooming patients and taking vital signs
- Documenting patient histories

Major Position Responsibilities:


The following duties and responsibilities are essential for the effective performance of this role:

- Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment, adhering to safety and infection control protocols.

- Accurately obtain, identify, and record vital signs, medications, and chief complaints.

- Observe and report significant patient symptoms and changes in condition, promptly notifying the RN or practitioner of any urgent issues.


- Enter patient-specific data into electronic systems using appropriate coding for billing and clinical reporting.
- Prepare examination rooms and instruments for procedures, assisting practitioners as needed.

- Collect and process specimens according to established guidelines.

- Ensure proper cleaning and handling of instruments and supplies.

- Prepare medications for verification and administration by the practitioner.

- Assist with patient inquiries and resolve non-clinical complaints.

- Perform additional duties as required.

**Education and Certification:**

Medical Assistant I
- Completion of a Medical Assisting program or equivalent training is required.


- On-the-job training may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Certification:

ALL
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.

- Medical Assistant I candidates must obtain certification within six months of hire.

- Medical Assistant II & III candidates must hold current MA or C.N.A. certification.

- Phlebotomy certification is preferred for Medical Assistant II & III.


All new hires must successfully complete a physical evaluation and background checks prior to starting work.
