Overview:
A skilled professional in Chemical and Materials Engineering is sought to engage in various engineering activities that align with organizational objectives. This role focuses on the development of innovative materials and chemical production methodologies, alongside monitoring material performance and optimizing equipment layouts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify and resolve issues related to chemical or materials engineering tools.
- Design and strategize equipment layouts to enhance chemical and materials engineering processes.
- Conduct laboratory investigations to assess new product manufacturing steps and evaluate proposed processes in pilot-scale operations for feasibility.
- Identify suitable methods for material fabrication and joining to enhance material performance in engineering applications.
- Monitor material performance and assess deterioration to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Innovate and test both metallic and non-metallic materials and their associated fabrication processes for engineering designs.
- Research and advance new and improved chemical manufacturing techniques.
- Analyze operational arrangements such as mixing, heat transfer, and polymerization to maximize efficiency.
- Perform material analyses including failure analysis, life predictions, and specification definitions.
- Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to establish specifications for various materials and processing methods.
- Review and validate subcontractor material processing protocols, and audit manufacturability of existing products, suggesting modifications as necessary.
- Conduct testing and measurements throughout production stages to maintain control over relevant variables, troubleshooting production process issues as needed.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and equipment to identify failures, and lead corrective actions in collaboration with Product Engineering.
- Develop and maintain PFMEAs, routings, labor standards, and updates to the ERP System.
- Create or revise manufacturing work instructions and acceptance test procedures.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in Chemistry with strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in O365 applications and experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle E1.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Lean Manufacturing experience and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
