Job Description:

The Data Scientist - Research and Development position at Delaware State University is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our team. As a key member of our research community, you will be responsible for providing biostatistical services to our investigators, including protocol development, study design, and data analysis. With your expertise in statistical methods and software such as SAS, R, or Python, you will play a critical role in advancing our research goals.

In addition to your technical skills, we are looking for someone who can effectively communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to work collaboratively with our researchers and graduate students will be essential in fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience. If you are passionate about driving research forward and making a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.

About the Position:

This is a full-time appointment, with a 100% grant-funded faculty-equivalent appointment under the direction of the co-Principal Investigator of the RCMI grant WCHBS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide biostatistical services to DSU investigators, including protocol development, study design, and data analysis
* Work collaboratively with researchers and graduate students to advance our research goals
* Develop and implement innovative data mining techniques and analytical tools to analyze complex health research data sets
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive approaches to health research

Required Qualifications:

* PhD or comparable doctorate in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
* Significant publication record and a track record of receiving external funding for research
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
