Key Responsibilities- Explaining Procedures to Patients
Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure their understanding and provide appropriate educational materials.
Preparing Patients for Radiology ExamsPrepare patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure and verifying their identity according to policies and procedures.
Following Radiation Safety ProceduresFollow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
Administering Contrast Media and MedicationsPrepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Observing Patients During ProceduresObserve patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity to ensure their safety and well-being.
Ensuring High-Quality ImagesEnsure that all images and documents sent to PACS are of high quality, with correct lead markers and patient data/history.
Maintaining Department CleanlinessMaintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
Performing Limited CT ProceduresMay perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
Working in a Constant State of AlertnessWork in a constant state of alertness and safe manner to ensure patient safety and well-being.
Requirements- Education
Completion of a radiology certification program.
Experience1 year of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome.
Physical RequirementsConstant standing and walking, frequent use of vision and depth perception, and frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Work EnvironmentThis position is a Weekend Shift (United States of America) and requires 36 hours of scheduled weekly work. SSM Health is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
