Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Laborers: Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of laborers, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Operate Mechanical Striping Machines: Operate mechanical striping machines to apply paint to pavement, ensuring that all work is completed to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Record Job Information: Record daily job information, including personnel, production time, material, equipment, and operational data, on specified forms and reports.
  • Assign Work to Laborers: Assign work to laborers based on material and work requirements of specific jobs.
  • Order Materials and Supplies: Order or requisition materials and supplies as directed by the Superintendent and Operations Manager.
  • Ensure Jobsite Signage: Ensure that proper jobsite signage is displayed at each project.
  • Monitor Weather Conditions: Check and monitor weather conditions on a daily basis.
  • Clean and Prepare Jobsites: Clean and prepare jobsites to eliminate possible hazards for crew and public.
  • Control Traffic: Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
  • Monitor Operations: Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
  • Set Up and Tear Down Equipment: Set up and tear down equipment as required.
  • Load and Unload Equipment: Load and unload equipment, including 5-gallon buckets of paint and striping machines, from trailers.
  • Facilitate Safety Meetings: Facilitate safety meetings and crew mini-huddles.
  • Lead Other Teams: Lead other teams with special tasks when deemed necessary by the Operations Manager or Superintendent.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience as a Team Leader: Two to three years of experience as a team leader, foreman, or supervisor, preferably in the paving industry.
  • Asphalt and Striping Experience: Three to five years of experience in asphalt and/or striping is highly desirable.
  • Availability to Work Overtime: Must be available to work overtime as required.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.
