Job Title: Off-The-Road (OTR) Tire Technician

Colony Tire Corporation is seeking a skilled Off-The-Road (OTR) Tire Technician to join our team. As an OTR Tire Technician, you will be responsible for performing tire and related service and repair for off-the-road equipment, including construction, earthmoving, mining, and farm equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect tires and wheels before and after service to ensure proper condition and safety.
  • Determine repairable tire conditions and make necessary repairs.
  • Operate heavy-duty tire service equipment and tools, including boom cranes, cribbing, jacks, compressors, electric, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Unbolt and re-bolt wheels from/to equipment using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
  • Mount and dismount any type of off-the-road tire, including multi-piece rims.
  • Match mating of dual assemblies.
  • Identify and inflate tires correctly for size, ply, and load requirements.
  • Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects.
  • Perform service calls on nights and/or weekends on a rotating basis.
  • Properly maintain assigned service vehicle, including appearance and on-board service equipment and tools.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalency, and/or related experience preferred.
  • OTR service training and certifications preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license for the type of vehicle required for the position and ability to meet commercial driver qualification requirements.
Work Environment:

The OTR Tire Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, and the employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
