Job Summary

As a Substitute Lunchroom Monitor at Daviess County High School, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for students during mealtime. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor students and ensure proper conduct in the lunchroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor students and maintain a calm and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria.
  • Collaborate with food service staff and the principal to address student needs and concerns.
  • Help students develop and observe proper dining habits, including etiquette and nutrition.
  • Circulate among tables during mealtime to provide assistance as needed.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards good nutrition and promote healthy eating habits.
  • Follow all safety and emergency procedures established by the district and/or school.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of the lunchroom.
  • Protect confidential information of students and fellow staff members.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies, as well as administrative procedures.
  • Prioritize, plan, and organize work to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Report incidents and concerns in accordance with established procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or satisfactory progress towards G.E.D.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of a mouse and keyboard to navigate computer, email, and websites.
  • Classroom management techniques.
  • Documentation and record-keeping techniques.
  • Communication skills.
  • Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.
Working Conditions

This is a non-contracted position with varied work availability based on need. Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment screenings is required as a contingency of employment.
