Job SummaryAs a skilled MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations on patients as requested by referring physicians. You will coordinate patient flow and activities of the MRI Scanner, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all patients.
Key Responsibilities- Verify patient charts and prescriptions to ensure proper exams are performed.
- Coordinate MRI exams with other departments and doctors' offices.
- Document all required information in patient log books and scan sheets.
- Exercise extreme care and caution while obtaining medical history and reason for examination to promote patient safety and avoid damage to MRI equipment.
- Follow hospital patient-identification policies prior to performing examinations.
- Inform shift supervisors of equipment repair and maintain MRI equipment cleanliness and orderliness.
- Stay current on new MRI issues through ongoing education and training.
- Monitor patients in the MRI scanner with nursing assistance when necessary.
- Operate MRI scanners to produce detailed, high-quality diagnostic images.
- Perform scans in a timely manner to minimize patient delays.
- Enter and transmit patient information to PACS promptly upon examination completion.
- Enrolled or completed a training program in MRI, or 3 years of MRI Technologist experience.
- American Registry of Rad Tech ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification, maintained active and in good standing throughout employment.
- American Heart Association CPR BLS certification, maintained active and in good standing throughout employment.
- 1 year of experience as an MRI technologist.
- Knowledge of emergency equipment and their functions.
- Knowledge of cardiac, fetal, and other specialties.
- Knowledge of working in an OR environment.
- Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families, and co-workers.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to problem solve and adapt standard clinical procedures to individual client needs.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and react calmly under stressful conditions.
