Job Summary

As a skilled MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations on patients as requested by referring physicians. You will coordinate patient flow and activities of the MRI Scanner, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient charts and prescriptions to ensure proper exams are performed.
  • Coordinate MRI exams with other departments and doctors' offices.
  • Document all required information in patient log books and scan sheets.
  • Exercise extreme care and caution while obtaining medical history and reason for examination to promote patient safety and avoid damage to MRI equipment.
  • Follow hospital patient-identification policies prior to performing examinations.
  • Inform shift supervisors of equipment repair and maintain MRI equipment cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Stay current on new MRI issues through ongoing education and training.
  • Monitor patients in the MRI scanner with nursing assistance when necessary.
  • Operate MRI scanners to produce detailed, high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Perform scans in a timely manner to minimize patient delays.
  • Enter and transmit patient information to PACS promptly upon examination completion.
Qualifications
  • Enrolled or completed a training program in MRI, or 3 years of MRI Technologist experience.
  • American Registry of Rad Tech ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification, maintained active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • American Heart Association CPR BLS certification, maintained active and in good standing throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience as an MRI technologist.
  • Knowledge of emergency equipment and their functions.
  • Knowledge of cardiac, fetal, and other specialties.
  • Knowledge of working in an OR environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to problem solve and adapt standard clinical procedures to individual client needs.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and react calmly under stressful conditions.
