Responsibilities:

  • Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary assessment of patients
  • Act at the direction of the treating physical therapist and in accordance with the plan of care
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of the plan of care in partnership with the patient, representative (if any), and caregiver(s)
  • Provide services that are ordered by the physician as indicated in the plan of care
  • Assist the treating physical therapist in documenting a patient's progress and response to treatment
  • Counsel and educate patients and their families to promote patient progress toward mutually established goals and in meeting healthcare-related needs
  • Effectively communicate with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team providing care to promote coordination of patient care and planning for discharge

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a physical therapist assistant in the state of Michigan
  • At least two years of experience as a physical therapist assistant in the last five years
  • Active CPR certification
