Position Overview:
We are seeking an Assembler II who will play a vital role in collaborating with a production team to manufacture and assemble high-quality Glass, Doors, Frames, and Subcomponents. Adherence to work orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is essential to meet daily targets for safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble or produce component parts into sub-assemblies, assemblies, and finished units in accordance with assembly travelers and standard work instructions.
- Utilize hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools as required.
- Maintain performance standards related to assembly, production, quality, safety, and cleanliness.
- Ensure work areas and shared spaces are kept clean and organized by implementing 6-S practices.
- Make minor adjustments or setups to equipment or machines under supervision.
- Conduct inspections of parts or completed units using visual checks, gauges, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection tools.
- Report any defective materials or questionable conditions to the lead person or department supervisor.
- Follow SOPs and instructions from leads and supervisors diligently.
- Participate in cross-training of team members and processes, assisting with production as necessary.
- Perform a variety of assembly or production tasks with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in production assembly work.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Fundamental PC skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure and comprehend fractions and decimals.
- Effective communication skills.
- Understanding of 6S principles.
- Capability to read and interpret job specifications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- A team-oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to changing conditions.
