Thompson Engineering seeks a qualified Construction Inspector to join our team in Dothan, AL. The successful candidate will possess excellent inspection skills and experience in construction project management.
Job OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Construction Inspector to work with our experienced engineering team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring construction projects meet the required standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
- Evaluate workmanship and materials used in construction projects
- Maintain accurate records of construction activities and site inspections
- Prepare sketches and reports detailing any deviations from project plans
- Test and inspect materials incorporated into construction projects
- Interpret project specifications related to materials and workmanship
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; a four-year degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
- A minimum of five years' experience in construction inspection or a related field
- The ability to obtain certification in Georgia for Concrete, Roadway Technician, Earthworks, QCI, and MUTCD
- Intermediate math and geometry skills to calculate areas, volumes, etc.
- A valid driver's license
- Computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
