Construction Inspector

Thompson Engineering seeks a qualified Construction Inspector to join our team in Dothan, AL. The successful candidate will possess excellent inspection skills and experience in construction project management.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Construction Inspector to work with our experienced engineering team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring construction projects meet the required standards and specifications.

• Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
• Evaluate workmanship and materials used in construction projects
• Maintain accurate records of construction activities and site inspections
• Prepare sketches and reports detailing any deviations from project plans
• Test and inspect materials incorporated into construction projects
• Interpret project specifications related to materials and workmanship

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent; a four-year degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
• A minimum of five years' experience in construction inspection or a related field
• The ability to obtain certification in Georgia for Concrete, Roadway Technician, Earthworks, QCI, and MUTCD
• Intermediate math and geometry skills to calculate areas, volumes, etc.
• A valid driver's license
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
