Ground Support Equipment Technician II

Position Overview:
This role involves functioning as a proficient technician in the assessment, upkeep, repair, and refurbishment of all Ground Support Equipment (both powered and non-powered).
Responsibilities may extend to assisting with facility or property machinery as instructed by management.
Work Environment:
Candidates must be open to flexible shifts, willing to undertake both indoor and outdoor assignments, and may be subject to overtime and occasional travel.
Safety Commitment:
The Ground Support Equipment Technician II is expected to adhere to safety-conscious practices in all operational activities; comply with all LGSTX Services, Inc. operational and safety protocols.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and safeguarding the well-being of customers, colleagues, and other individuals on company premises or within the air operations area.
- Providing mentorship to less experienced staff and guiding junior technicians on diagnosing and resolving less complex maintenance issues.
- Removing defective ground support equipment from service and ensuring it is not reinstated until proper diagnosis and repairs have been completed.
- Utilizing appropriate tools, equipment, and materials to perform maintenance tasks, including but not limited to inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and component replacements across all Ground Support functions.
Diagnostic Skills:
Must be capable of conducting troubleshooting and diagnostic evaluations of ground support equipment as necessary; adept at resolving issues by interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and relevant publications.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D; demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbally and in writing) on technical subjects to both internal and external stakeholders; be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic diagrams; hold a valid Driver's License; and have verifiable experience of three (3) years in industrial and/or commercial maintenance work.
Additional skills include:
- Basic welding skills (arc, MIG, and acetylene).
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing gas and diesel engines, automatic/manual transmissions, hydraulic systems, and battery-operated equipment.
- Ability to change light and heavy-duty tires and wheels.
- Capability to work independently without supervision.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Six (6) months of formal technical training in automotive maintenance or truck/implement devices.
- Two (2) years of experience in servicing and minor repairs of industrial and/or commercial vehicles/equipment.
Note:
One (1) or more years of formal, approved training will be considered equivalent to one (1) year of the overall experience requirement.
Additional skills that are advantageous include the ability to interpret technical documents, hold a CDL Class A driver's license, and possess prior military AGE/GSE experience. Proficiency in typing and familiarity with Microsoft Office products is also beneficial.
