Job Summary:

This is a full-time LPN position that requires a minimum of 80 hours per pay period, with a schedule of 2 pm - 10 pm, every other weekend and holiday. As an LPN, you will work under the supervision of an RN and be responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents with common, well-defined nursing diagnoses.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather data relative to the health status of residents and report to physicians and document appropriately.
  • Rend direct patient care consistent with the level of nursing skills.
  • Use established channels of communication to implement an effective health care plan.
  • Organize the delivery of standard nursing care to use time and resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with other healthcare personnel to manage patient care.
  • Participate in the medical plan of care to promote an integrated health care plan.
  • Evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions and document appropriately.
  • Maintain accountability for own care and care delegated to others to assure adherence to ethical and legal standards.
  • Plan, promote, and participate in patient education and rehabilitation.
  • Provide general nursing care to patients, administer prescribed medication and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Participate in non-direct patient care activities, including educational activities, quality improvement nursing committees, and other related activities.
Requirements:
  • A graduate of an approved LPN program.
  • Current license to practice in the State of Iowa.
  • Successful completion of BLS within 3 months of employment.
  • Nursing Home experience preferred.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The LPN must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 45 pounds, and stand for long periods of time. The work environment is primarily indoors, with occasional exposure to dust, grease, and oils.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including IPERS, health, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability. PTO and sick leave accrual begins on the first day of employment. Shift differential for evening/night shift and weekends.
