Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Plant Operations Specialist to join our team at BCforward. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unload and Process Waste: Unload waste from incoming vehicles, separate non-autoclavable waste for incineration, and stage waste on conveyor systems or properly stack waste for scanning.
  • Operate Equipment: Load autoclave bins or incinerator hoppers with waste for processing, operate tub wash units, and inspect and stack clean tubs for loading onto assigned vehicles.
  • Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Decontaminate vehicles, cargo-carrying portions, and ensure housekeeping issues are addressed immediately.
  • Assist with Plant Operations: Assist in other areas of the plant operation as directed, including assisting with tasks such as cleaning and maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: One year of related experience or training, or a combination of experience and training, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact.
  • Physical Demands: Extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing, with the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and push and/or pull carts weighing up to 500 pounds.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills, as well as knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.
