Job Summary

Maddox Electric Co. Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Lead Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for overseeing the progress of estimates, reviewing details with the Estimator, and ensuring procedures follow company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign work to estimating staff and oversee the progress of estimates

  • Ensure procedures follow company standards

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in electrical project estimating and bidding
  • Knowledge of Accubid, ConEst, or McCormick computer estimating systems
  • Knowledge of methods and labor units for proper application and procedures
  • Understanding of project general conditions, bidding requirements, bonding, and insurance
  • Ability to read and understand all types of construction plans and specifications
  • Working knowledge of trade terms, materials, methods, codes, contracts, and specification language
  • Approach to estimating that is coordinated, consistent, thoughtful, accurate, and versatile enough to adapt to each type of project
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining effective reasoning and judgment
  • Great verbal, written, communication, and people skills
  • Ability to capitalize on opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in project estimating and bidding

Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug test upon being given a conditional offer of employment
